Pro Tour Qualifier Event
Taylor Lanes is once again holding Pro Tour Qualifiers (PTQ) to determine which three local amateurs will compete with the pros in the upcoming PBA Greater Detroit Open held November 7th through 10th. Each qualifying event will consist of one six game block. This year we will be using an oil pattern for the PTQ's supplied to us by the PBA. The oil pattern will be similar to those used by the PBA for national tour events. The first of two qualifiers will be held on Sunday, September 29th at 12 noon. The bowler with the top scratch score from this qualifier will receive a paid entry into this year's Greater Detroit Open. The second qualifier will take place on Sunday, October 13th at 12 noon. The two bowlers with the highest scratch scores from this squad will also receive paid entries into the Greater Detroit Open. These events are open to anyone who is not an exempt PBA touring player member. The cost to enter the PTQ's is $35.00 if your entry is prepaid or $40.00 for walk-ins. However, anyone referring five bowlers who have never bowled in a PTQ at Taylor Lanes before will receive a free entry.
Prior to competing in the Greater Detroit Open, amateurs who qualify to bowl in the event will be asked to sign a waiver indicating whether they wish to wave their rights to monies earned while bowling in the Greater Detroit Open and retain their amateur status or if they wish to accept prize money earned and become a PBA member. As in past years, large voluntary jackpots for each PTQ event are expected. We strongly recommend prepaying your entry fee to guarantee a spot in any of the PTQ events. Please fill out the entry form below and mail a check or money order payable to Taylor Lanes. Mailed entries must be received at least two days prior to the PTQ event. Walk-ins will be taken the day of each PTQ event on a first come first serve basis, providing there are openings. There will be no refunds the day of the PTQ without prior consent from Grant Petersen.
